Copyright & takedowns
If you believe material on this site infringes your rights, here is how to contact us and what to include.
How dotBeat treats song content
dotBeat is an educational rhythm tool. Charts and prompts are meant for practice (chords, timing, short memory cues), not to replace licensed sheet music or official lyrics. Where we cannot safely show full lyric text, the site uses shortened prompts instead.
If you own rights in a work and are unhappy with how it appears here, we take that seriously and will review good-faith requests.
How to send a request
Email hello@dotbeat.app with a subject line such as “Copyright / takedown request”. Please include:
- Who you are — your name (or organization) and your relationship to the work (for example, rights holder or authorised agent).
- The work — title, songwriter or publisher where relevant, and what right is affected (for example, lyrics, melody, recording, trademark).
- Exact location on dotBeat — the page URL (and section or song name if it helps us find it quickly).
- What you want — removal, a specific change, or another outcome we can reasonably implement.
- Good faith — a short statement that you believe the use is not authorised (or is mistaken), and that the information in your message is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
We may ask follow-up questions if something is unclear. Please use the same email thread when you reply.
What happens next
We will acknowledge receipt when we can and review the request. If we agree the material should come down or change, we will update or remove it as soon as practical. This is a small project, so complex cases may take a little longer, but we will not ignore a complete, good-faith request.
